Non Medical Transport (NMT) Livery Transportation

Livery/Taxi

Patient is able to walk to and from the vehicle without assistance. Vehicles and drivers adhere to Lyft and Uber standards. Medical Transportation

Non Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT)

Ambulatory/ Post -Op
Patient can walk with use of a walker, cane, crutches or collapsible wheelchair, and requires assistance.
Vehicles and drivers adhere to NEMT state licensing and certification requirements Medical Transportation

Wheelchair/Wheelchair XL

Call for Quote

1. Wheelchair: Patient uses a wheelchair and must remain in the wheelchair throughout transport. 

2. Wheelchair-XL: Patient uses a wheelchair and must remain in the wheelchair throughout transport. 

3. Vehicles must contain a lift or wheelchair ramp that accommodates a standard wheelchair (<34" base). Medical Transportation

Stretcher / Gurney

Patient is medically stable but needs to lie flat during transportation Vehicles and drivers adhere to NEMT state licensing and certification requirements


Ambulance - BLS

Patient requires medical attention / monitoring throughout transport. As defined by state / local authority Medical Transportation

Ambulance - ALS

Call for Quote

Patient requires advanced medical attention / monitoring throughout transport. As defined by state / local authority


Patient Assistance Levels

Basic

Driver not obligated to provide patient assistance. Driver shall remain at or near the vehicle and not enter any buildings.

Curb-To-Curb

Driver shall provide assistance according to the patient’s needs, including assistance entering and exiting the vehicle. Driver shall remain at or near the vehicle and not enter any buildings.

Door-To-Door

Driver required to provide the patient with assistance throughout transport and assist the patient to safely move between the door of the vehicle and the door of the designated entrance to the pickup and drop off location

Hand-To-Hand

Driver required to receive the patient (medical necessity) from a designated person inside the pickup location and transfer care to a provider staff member, family member or other responsible party inside the drop off location.

Room-To-Room

Driver required to receive the patient (medical necessity) from a designated person inside a room within the pickup location and transfer care to a provider staff member, family member or other responsible party inside a room within the drop off location.  Drivers are not authorized to transfer a patient from a bed to wheelchair (BLS/ALS excluded)

Bariatric

Typically two drivers assist patient because the patient weighs over 300lbs and uses a bariatric wheelchair.  


Additional Services

(Upon Request)

Transportation Wheelchair

Driver shall provide a transporter owned wheelchair for use by the patient for the duration of the trip.  Additional fees may apply. Notification of transporter wheelchair must be provided at booking

O2 Tank

Driver shall provide a transporter owned O2 tank for use by the patient for the duration of the trip. Additional fees may apply.  Notification of transporter O2 tank must be provided at booking


Attendants

A single, qualified attendant my accompany patients at no additional cost.  Notification of attendant must be provided at booking

Additional Passengers

Additional family members, caregivers or other support staff may accompany patients.  Additional fees may apply. Notification of additional passengers must be provided at booking

Wait Time

NEMTs may charge a wait time fee in 15 minute increments for wait time in excess of 15 minutes.  Wait time fees may be assessed for the following two scenarios:

Wait and Return: Round-trip service where driver waits at the destination for a pre-scheduled amount of time before returning the patient to the origin location.  Care Providers must include wait time at time of booking.

Delayed Pick Up

Driver waits for an unscheduled amount of time for a delayed patient.  Care Providers or NEMTs must add wait time to completed rides along with clock times for reimbursement. 

After Hours

NEMTs may charge an after hours fee for pickup times outside of their normal operating hours.

Tolls / Bridges / Tunnels

NEMTs may pass through toll, bridge, tunnel and  charges at cost.  NEMTs should make a reasonable effort to avoid unnecessary tolls, bridges, tunnels.
